The Principle and how it operates
The Rotomat – the principle is simple. Goods to users and not users to goods.
The Lean Lift – is both storage rationalization and goods production in one. At the center of the cabinet is a computer-controlled positioning lift – called the extractor.
In front of it and behind it are the storage shelves. This is where the articles are kept in containers. The storage locations are accessed automatically under electronic control by means of the extractor, which stores or retrieves the requested container. The operator works comfortably in the ergonomically positioned retrieval area.
To talk specifically about storing metal parts and assemblies, automated storage systems allow parts to be kept together or separated in different compartments for easy access. The VLM or vertical lift module frees up space that would otherwise be used for excess storage allowing more inventory to come in or other storage to be used.
